Precision manufacturing leader, LAI International, received delivery of the first US-based ARCAM Q20 3D Printer. The printer features Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technology and is the first of its kind to have capability of producing Titanium through the Additive Manufacturing (AM) process.
“The EBM process allows for greater utilization of the build volume and faster build times than competing Laser sintering machines,” said Joe Manzo, CEO of Titan Industries. “Most importantly, the Electron Beam uses pre- and post-heating to relieve residual stresses, eliminating the need for mechanical supports and dramatically reducing warpage and the need for post process annealing. Our strategic alliance with LAI, International allows us to provide any necessary post processing. Having all of this capability under one roof provides tremendous value for the customer with regard to convenience, speed, and cost.”
